How to use Crazy Curlers

Six steps, no hot tools. Crazy Curlers work like a roller you can actually take out: wrap the section, let it set, unroll. Below is the sequence we use ourselves for root volume, soft waves and a blowout finish.

Step by step

  1. Step 1

    Section the hair

Divide the hair into clean sections. Narrower sections give tighter, more defined waves; wider sections give softer movement and more root lift.

  2. Step 2

Guide the section along the roller

Smooth the section along the roller so the hair sits ordered inside the open structure instead of bunching up.

  3. Step 3

Roll the hair around the roller

Wrap the section around Crazy Curlers, rolling towards the root to lift it.

  4. Step 4

    Secure it with a clip

Hold the roller in place with a suitable hair clip. No metal clamps or tight elastics are needed.

  5. Step 5

    Let it set

Leave the rollers in according to your styling method: on slightly damp hair, until the hair is completely dry; on dry hair, long enough to lift the roots and refresh the shape. Air passes through the roller, so drying is faster and more even.

  6. Step 6

    Remove gently

Unroll the section and let the roller slide out. The open structure releases the hair without pulling or knotting, revealing volume and soft waves.

Damp hair or dry hair?

The best result comes from slightly damp — not wet — hair, left in until it is fully dry. On completely dry hair the rollers still work well to lift the roots and refresh a style between washes, they simply hold a little less shape.

How long should you leave them in?

Long enough for the hair to dry completely: that is what sets the wave. Setting time depends on hair thickness, length and how damp the hair was, not on a fixed number — when the section is dry all the way through, it is ready.

Short hair and long hair

Length changes the sectioning, not the method. Shorter hair usually needs fewer, tighter sections concentrated at the roots for lift; longer or thicker hair works better with more sections so each one dries evenly.

How to clean them

Rinse the rollers with water. Because the structure is open, styling product does not get trapped inside, so they clean up in seconds and dry quickly.
